‘I am no Chaucer, Shakespeare or Dickens but I share the goal of the Tales: to depict the human comedy all around us and, in my case, in every nook and cranny of schools, colleges and universities. Schooldays for the vast majority of us remain “the happiest days of our life” when you look back at them. If I raise in you just one smile or one nod of recognition, then I am content. Two smiles would be a bonus.’
